Balance: the shrinking see-saw party game for 2–8 phones

The board shrinks. Stay on it, nudge everyone else off.

Everyone stands on the same see-saw. It tilts under your weight, it gets shorter every few seconds, and only one of you is still on it at the end.

How to play Balance

2–8 players · Stick + JUMP · no download

  1. Join the Game

Scan the QR code on the Game Screen with your phone to join as a player.

  2. Walk the Board

Drag the stick to run left and right. The board pivots on its centre, so every step you take changes the angle for everybody.

  3. Jump and Shove

JUMP hops you clear of a bad slope — or lands you on somebody who was standing comfortably. Bodies collide, so positioning is a weapon.

  4. Survive the Shrink

The board loses length on a timer, and after about 28 seconds sudden death speeds the shrink up hard. Fall off and you are out. Last one standing wins.

About Balance

Balance is the physics centrepiece of the LanPlay party collection — a single Matter-powered plank that eight characters genuinely stand on, tilt and fall from, with no scripted outcomes.

Play Balance instantly in your web browser — no downloads, no installations. Everyone uses their own smartphone as a controller and plays together on one screen.

Balance FAQ

The questions people ask before the first round.

How is Balance different from Falling Planets?

Balance is one shared surface that tilts — everything you do affects everyone else's footing. Falling Planets gives each player their own landing to aim at and makes you climb.

How many players can play Balance?

2–8 players. It is at its best with five or more, when the board can barely hold everybody before the shrinking even starts.

Can I push other players off in Balance?

Yes. There is no dedicated shove button — you do it with your body, by running into people and landing on them. Leaning the board is the subtler version of the same trick.

What is sudden death?

If the round drags on, the board starts shrinking much faster, so a stalemate between two careful players cannot last.
